Singapore in 6 Days under 1200 SGD
This trip was about walking a lot with my mom and dad through clean streets, endless views, and moments that made us pause without saying much. It was tiring, yes, but also one of those trips that quietly stays with you , simple yet aww-worthy moments!
Day Wise Itinerary
Day 1 - First Glimpse & City Lights
We landed in Singapore early morning and ate at the airport. Breakfast there was a small teaser of what the next week was going to look like food-wise, and honestly, not a bad way to start.
By evening, we headed to Marina Bay Sands, walked around the mall, and made our way up to the SkyPark Observation Deck. The views? A solid first glimpse of Singapore : skyline, water, city all stitched together neatly. It sets the tone for what the city has to offer.
As night fell, we caught the Spectra Light & Water Show. Timings are usually around 7:30pm and 8:30pm. One view from above, one from below, and a slow walk around Marina Bay with the evening breeze . An easy, no-rush end to Day 1.
💡 Pro Tip:
👉 SkyPark tickets (book online): https://www.marinabaysands.com/attractions/sands-skypark.html (Adult tickets usually start around S$35–39.)
Scroll down to the Things to Know section below for accommodation tips, planning this right makes Day 1 much smoother.
Day 2
Merlion Morning
We kicked off Day 2 after breakfast with the classic Singapore energy starter heading straight to the Merlion Park to catch that iconic spout and the Marina Bay skyline. Morning humidity hit us faster than our first cup of coffee. Singapore in January is sunny, sweaty, and ready for photos! There were street food carts and fruit stalls around (watermelon, pineapple, fresh snacks) perfect for a quick cool-down bite and a sweet start to the day.
Headed to the Buddha Tooth Relic Temple, a peaceful contrast to the urban vibes of the morning. The temple is deeply beautiful, full of incense, chants, and that calm-crowd energy that feels like a breath between busy streets.
Lunch around Chinatown was a casual feed think local hawker style eats, quick bowls of noodles.
Singapore has excellent transport system whether EZ-Link or Singapore Tourist Pass, we trusted it daily to zip us around town . Check “Things to Know” section later.
💡 Pro Tip: If heat isn’t your jam, visit Merlion right at sunrise for softer light and fewer crowds and keep a handheld fan or water bottle handy!
Gardens by the Bay
This one deserves its own applause. We walked a lot (brace your feet). Gardens by the Bay has three main ticket options:
Flower Dome – a chilled indoor oasis of themed floral displays
Cloud Forest – waterfall, mist, and cool air , think tropical mountain indoors
OCBC Skyway / SuperTree Grove – elevated walkway and light show view
We chose the Flower Dome massive indoor floral paradise with a breezy escape from Singapore heat. Ice-cold drinks, overpriced coffee stalls, and plenty of shade made it a restful wander. The flower themes change often, so expect surprises each visit.
As evening rolled in, we made our way back to the SuperTree Grove. We timed our walk perfectly and headed up to the OCBC Skyway just before the first light show. Walking 22 metres above the ground, suspended between two massive Supertrees, felt unreal . Marina Bay in the distance, and the music slowly building below. Watching the light show from above is a whole different vibe: you’re surrounded by lights, colors, and movement, almost like you’re inside the show rather than just watching it.
After soaking in the first show from the Skyway, we walked back down and caught the second light show from the ground at Supertree Grove. From below, it felt grander, the full scale of the towering trees, the reflections, the crowd energy, and the music all coming together. Two shows, two perspectives, and honestly, both were worth it.

Light Show Timings (Garden Rhapsody)
Daily Showtimes: 7:45 PM & 8:45 PM
Duration: ~15 minutes each
From Below: Free viewing at Supertree Grove
From Above: OCBC Skyway ticket required (time-slot based)
💡 Pro Tip: Book the OCBC Skyway slot 30–45 minutes before the first show so you’re already up there when the lights begin and carry a poncho just in case of evening drizzles.
Day 3 - Universal Studios and Sentosa Island
We kicked off the morning with Universal Studios Singapore.
To reach Universal Studios, we hopped on the Sentosa Express monorail from VivoCity Mall (Level 3) , that’s the station connected to the MRT at HarbourFront. This cute little elevated train takes you straight into Sentosa Island too.
We spent half the day exploring rides, shows, and food spots inside the park. Movie-themed rides, character encounters, and popcorn-fuelled fun make it worth the visit.
Wings of Time Lights Show
After Universal Studios, we continued on the island adventure with the Sentosa Cable Car (gondola ride) , this isn’t just transport, it’s a 360° aerial show! Glided above the water, watching shipping lanes filled with container vessels and trade ships below.
Headed to the Siloso beach to relax , ideal spot for winding down after all that walking and rides in the studios. Rest and chill on the shores with beautiful sunset to watch. As evening approached, we already reserved tickets for the Wings of Time show , a long-running night spectacle of lights, water fountains, fire effects, music, and storytelling right by the Siloso Beach shore.

Day 4 - Night Walks
COVID PCR test day. Not exactly the travel memory you dream of, but hey, it was part of the era. Once the test was done, the rest of the day slowed down nicely and turned into more of a leisure, take-it-easy kind.
Once the sun dipped, we headed out for a city night walk, starting around the Helix Bridge. The futuristic curves of the bridge lit up beautifully, with Marina Bay shimmering on one side : slow walks & photo stops. From there, we wandered around Marina Bay Sands.
And because clearly we hadn’t had enough already… we went back to the OCBC Skyway again 😄
The Supertrees lit up, the breeze kicked in, and the view from above never really gets old. If you love city lights and night photography, this is one experience you’ll keep repeating without guilt.
Day 5 - Orchid Gardens & Fort Canning
Day 5 started on a calm, colorful note at the National Orchid Garden, and honestly, this place felt like walking through a living painting. The indoor garden is filled with endless varieties of orchids.
Every corner bursts with colour, symmetry, and detail that’s honestly hard to explain until you’re standing there. It’s peaceful, vibrant, and one of those places where you automatically slow down just to take it all in. Before leaving, we grabbed a cup of orchid tea from the shop - light, floral, and surprisingly refreshing. A small thing, but one of those very Singapore moments that sticks with you.
From there, we headed to Fort Canning Park. This spot is often hyped for its Instagram-famous staircase tunnel, where you look up and see the sky framed by tree branches above. It’s cool, aesthetic, and definitely photogenic but let’s be honest, that’s the main highlight.
💡 Pro Tip: Fort Canning is worth it if you’re a photo lover or Instagram enthusiast. If pictures aren’t your thing, treat it as a quick stroll rather than a must-see attraction.
We wrapped the day with a simple dinner out in the city, walking through familiar streets, soaking in the last few hours of Singapore life no rushing, no packed plans, just a slow, satisfying end to the trip.
Day 6 - Koon Seng Road & Airport Wonders
Departure day it is, but we made sure to squeeze in a few final moments before saying goodbye. After breakfast, we headed to the colorful streets of Singapore, its a quiet stretch lined with beautifully preserved, colourful Peranakan houses. Under the mid-day light showers, the pastel blues, yellows, pinks, and greens somehow felt even brighter, almost glowing. It’s one of those places that feels calm, local, and perfect for a last set of photos before leaving the city.
From there, we made our way to Changi Airport, and trust me this is not an airport you rush through. You need solid time here, because it feels more like a destination on its own. The highlight is the Jewel Changi Rain Vortex, the world’s tallest indoor waterfall, cascading dramatically through the centre of the complex.
Before heading to our gate, we even hopped on the airport Skytrain between terminals not to go anywhere in particular, but just to catch different views from above. It’s a simple, free experience, but surprisingly fun and scenic. And just like that, with cameras full and legs tired, it was time to board our flight and leave Singapore already planning the next visit.

Things you need to know
Accommodation Tips:
Hotel rooms in Singapore are generally smaller than expected, especially if you’re travelling as three adults. Factor this in while booking to avoid last-minute surprises.
Location tip: I’d personally avoid staying too close to Little India if it’s your first time , it’s lively, but doesn’t quite reflect the Singapore vibe you probably want to experience initially.
Transportation Tips:
Get a Singapore Tourist Pass / EZ-Link on Day 1 , cheaper than paying single fares. You can top it up easily at MRT stations.
If you’re in Singapore for more than 3 days, using a 3-day Tourist Pass for when you’re sightseeing the most and then switching to an EZ-Link card for the rest is usually the most efficient and flexible option
Essential Tips
Weather Watch: Singapore humidity is real carry water, light clothes, and sunscreen.
Walking Shoes Required: Singapore spots are walk-heavy , wear a comfortably stylish one ;)
Evening showers : Expect light to heavy flash evening showers after a humid morning, so dont forget to pack a light weight poncho in your bags.
Airport Tip: Book your return flight later in the day so you can spend at least half a day exploring Changi Airport.
Have a nice trip ahead :)
